The Winter Conditioning Program is supervised and run by the WSHS Crew Coaching staff Monday through Friday from 5:00-7pm at the school. Our conditioning program is voluntary and can be joined at anytime during the program. Any varsity rower will tell you that the best chance of making the team during tryouts at the end of each February is to go through winter conditioning.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Make no mistake, conditioning is hard. The coaches will push you to stretch your physical limits on more than just the ergs. Our program is designed with strength, speed, flexibility, proper form, safety and teamwork in mind.

These Novices (2019) are ALL IN … EVERYTHING they have to give… No Fear !!
Conditioning ends with spring tryouts in February. From the last novice to sign up to a returning captain from last year’s state championship boat, everyone goes through the tryouts on one of the two days.
