Old Oars Donation Day

It’s time to let go of the old oars we have at the boathouse. The oars will be available for sale by donation and takeaway August 7 from 9-1 at the Oxford Boathouse in the Lake Ridge Marina Park. Come early for the best selection and own some rowing history!

The proceeds from the oars will go directly toward the purchase of a new varsity eight shell. We’re focused on having the shell ready for workouts when they start next spring.

If you don’t want an oar but do want to support Woodbridge Crew, please consider a tax-deductible, direct donation:

Celebrating a successful season

Our team got together today to celebrate an incredible season and to recognize our rowers’ efforts and successes as crews and students.

Our Vikings rowers were strong competitors across multiple categories this season. Four of our crews competed in the SRAA National Championships Regatta and 15 of 17 seniors earned Scholar Athlete recognition. Check out some pictures from our event and our season.

All this success wouldn’t be possible without dedicated rowers, great coaches and a strong base of boosters and fans. We can’t wait for next season!

Frozen Fun for Funds

We’re getting together with friends, teammates and supporters for frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog today. We’ll be at the Woodbridge location from 3-9 PM as a fundraiser for our team.

Our team holds different types of fundraisers throughout the year to help keep participation costs reasonable for our rowers and to help us keep our boats and equipment current and in good condition.

We hope to see you at Sweet Frog today!

National Championships 2016

Four of our boats competed in the SRAA National Championship Regatta, May 27-28, on Dillon Lake, Ohio. Our women’s lightweight 4, men’s lightweight 4, men’s second 8 and men’s varsity 8 faceed tough competition from across the nation.

The Vikings achieved some impressive results. Each of our boats finished in the top 20 in the nation! Our lightweight 4 women rowed hard today and finished 7th nationally. Our men’s second 8 came in ninth, our men’s varsity 8 finished fifteenth and our men’s lightweight 4 is sixteenth. It’s been a great season!

Our team will compete in 11 categories at the 90th Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia. Our rowers will join crews from all parts of the United States and Canada to compete on the Schuylkill River. More than 5,000 competitors are expected.

The race schedules and results are available here in near real time. Stotesbury also is active on Twitter @StotesRegatta. Check the site for a  video live stream, too.
